The Seahawks have never had the number one pick in the NFL Draft. But in the 1987 supplemental draft Seattle was awarded the first pick and they used it to select a standout college linebacker named Brian Bosworth. At a time when Seattle wasn't heavily covered in the media, The Boz's style and ability to market himself skyrocketed him to one of the more well-known players in the league.
But the Boz couldn't replicate what he did in college at Oklahoma and though he had a decent rookie season, the game against the Raiders where he was run over by Bo Jackson seemed to define his career. Bosworth was never worth his 10-year NFL contract of 10 years, $11 million — the largest for a rookie at the time.
