We got an honest moment from head coach Pete Carroll this week and he freely admitted how much this game meant to get the win to kick off the season. However, in an interview after the game he did leave us guessing as to some of the reasons why it meant so much more. Either way, the Seahawks got the win over the Denver Broncos as the former Seahawks quarterback and it could have been much worse for Denver if not for a few key mistakes during the game.
On the horizon now is the matchup with the division rival San Francisco 49ers. The Niners are going to open up their season at home against Seattle coming off an unexpected loss to the Chicago Bears. The pressure is now on a young quarterback to bounce back from that loss to ensure the team doesn't fall two games back of the division lead right out of the gate. If we can believe coach Mike Martz's comments, maybe the Seattle defense doesn't have much to worry about with this week's quarterback, but the Seahawks offense will have to deal with going up against a much tougher defense.
In the second half of the show, we get to continue to gloat about the Seahawks leading the NFC West as each of the teams within the division lost this past week. Plus, we congratulate Mafevourite Pancakes Are Abe's as this week's pick'em league winner. Do Better call outs go to Peter King and Brett Favre, while better at life honors go to Pete Carroll and Seahawks fans at the game.
